Reiki Energy Healing
Reiki is a Japanese healing technique often described as hands-on-body healing in which the practitioner places his/her hands lightly on or over the patient’s body to facilitate the patient’s process of healing. Reiki combines the Japanese and Chinese word-characters of “rei” (God’s wisdom or higher power/spiritual) and “ki” (life force energy), when combined means “spiritually guided life force energy”. One of the basic ideas held is this life force energy can be channeled to support the body’s natural ability to heal itself. If one’s “life force energy” is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy. Reiki, specifically, helps to align our Chakra system. Chakras are specific energy sources in our bodies, which as a group help us function as whole healthy human-beings. When they are open and balanced we feel good; contrarily, when they are stuck, over-active or under-active we feel poorly. Reiki helps us connect more deeply with our spirit and soul.
